Simulation of brazed plate fin heat exchangers
ProSec is a software dedicated to the simulation of multi-fluids plate fin heat exchangers, and in particular brazed aluminium exchangers. It is capable of modelling the full complexity of this type of equipment.
This heat exchanger technology, derived from the aeronautic industry, allows a large exchange surface with respect to volume and enables to reach small temperature pinch while ensuring simultaneous heat exchanges between several fluids. Thanks to its small size, this equipment was initially used in air separation and oxygen production applications. Today, it is operated in a wide variety of gas purification or liquefaction processes, including air constituents, natural gas or other hydrocarbons. They are used in single phase (liquid or vapour) but also in double phase (condensation and / or evaporation).
A brazed plate-fin heat exchanger consists of stacked corrugated sheets (fins) of various geometries, separated from each other by flat plates and sealed along the edge with bars. Fluids circulate in the adjacent flows that are created. According to the width, length of the sheets, the type of fin (straight, perforated, serrated, etc…), the number of stacked sheet, the fluid fitting sequence between flows, etc… numerous designs are feasible. The thermal engineer can benefit from this flexibility to design an exchanger that will satisfy the targeted heat transfers while respecting pressure drop constraints.

Pure component thermodynamic properties database
ProSim is one of the few distributor of the DIPPR® database from AICHE's (American Institute of Chemical Engineers). This database (Lite 2005 release), the main reference for the thermophysical properties of pure components, contains the properties of 1,843 compounds, including all industrially relevant components. The properties covered include data for 29 fixed-value properties (molar weight, critical temperature, critical pressure, etc.) and correlation coefficients for 15 temperature-dependent properties (liquid and vapor heat capacity, vapor pressure, liquid and vapor viscosity, etc).
ProSim's DIPPR L05+ is an enriched version of the DIPPR® database and the upgraded version of the DIPPR L03+ database we previously distributed. It provides reliable and up-to-date information for over 2000 compounds. The information added by ProSim's experts comes from in depth research projects and studies.

Cosmo is an application for the management and control of the warehouse on construction site. Furthermore it allows controlling prefabrication and erection phases of industrial plants. Here are main features of Cosmo.
Management of warehouses
Cosmo is able to perform the management of a single warehouse as well as of several warehouses in case of very large plants. Through the functions which permit control of goods handling it is possible to maintain updated availability of materials in warehouse with the possibility of producing every time the situations related to handling and availabilities of materials located in the warehouses.
Feasibility Studies
Cosmo may be utilized as decision support tool to optimize the prefabrication and erection processes of piping bulk materials. The functions are available to perform the feasibility analysis permit to find out which Spools are possible to construct based on specific warehouse materials availability. Furthermore the analysis activities may be carried out in Real and Provisional modality. The first one uses the real warehouse availability and the second one uses the materials quantities and delivery dates as shown in the Packing Lists and Purchase Orders. The obtained feasibilities may be saved and utilized to book the materials available in the warehouses without deliver them. It is also possible to off load the warehouse directly from the feasibility analysis, thus obtaining automatically the delivery notes print-out.
Management of Procurement documents
Cosmo utilizes the procurement documents Material Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Packing Lists to produce the materials situations based on several status, i.e. Required, Ordered, Shipped, Arrived at site, in order to control the above said handling phases and plan the construction activity dates. Furthermore it permits to minimize the manual input and the reuse of data from the previous Procurement and Expediting phases. Packing Lists are utilized as template to handle the materials loading in the warehouse and to perform provisional feasibility analysis based on the delivery dates as shown in the Purchase Orders and Packing Lists.
